Find Mates ("we", "our", or "the app") is developed by Easytech (1993) Ltd. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using Find Mates you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information required to provide real-time group location sharing:
- Precise location (GPS) – Your latitude, longitude, heading, and accuracy while you are an active member of a party. Location is shared continuously in the foreground and in the background when you grant "Always Allow" permission.
- Device identifier – A randomly generated identifier stored on your device (not linked to your Apple ID or phone number) used to identify you within a party.
- Display name – The name you enter during onboarding, shown to other members of your party.
- Push notification token – A Firebase Cloud Messaging token used to deliver join-request notifications to party admins. Stored only while your party is active.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, or any data unrelated to group location sharing.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Displaying your real-time location to other members of your party.
- Enabling precision finding (UWB direction and distance) between nearby devices.
- Sending push notifications to party admins when someone requests to join.
- We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or profiling.
- We do not sell your data to any third party.
3. Data Storage & Retention
Your location data and party membership are stored in Google Firebase Firestore, a secure cloud database. Data is associated with your randomly generated device ID only.
- Location data is overwritten with each new GPS fix (no historical trail is stored).
- When you leave a party or the party is dissolved, your member record is permanently deleted.
- Push notification tokens are stored only while you are an active party member.
4. Device Permissions
- Location (Always Allow) – Required for background sharing so friends can find you when the app is minimized. You can revoke this in iOS Settings → Find Mates. Revoking stops background sharing; the app still works in the foreground with "While Using."
- Camera – Used only on supported iPhones (iPhone 11 and later) to enable AirTag-style precision direction finding via Apple's UWB + ARKit framework. The camera feed is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
- Nearby Interaction (UWB) – Used for centimeter-accurate distance and direction between devices when members are close together.
- Notifications – Used to alert party admins when someone requests to join. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
5. Third-Party Services
- Google Firebase (Firestore & Cloud Messaging) – Used for real-time data sync and push notifications. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy.
- Apple (Core Location, Nearby Interaction, ARKit) – System frameworks used for GPS, UWB, and camera assistance. No data leaves Apple's framework APIs.
6. Children's Privacy
Find Mates is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Your Rights & Choices
- You can leave any party at any time, which permanently deletes your location data from that party.
- You can revoke location or notification permissions in iOS Settings at any time.
- To request deletion of all data associated with your device ID, contact us at the email below.
8. Security
All data in transit is encrypted via TLS. Firebase Firestore enforces server-side security rules that restrict access so only active party members can read location data within their party.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
